Voyage Data Recorders (VDR/sVDR) from NetWave Systems
By making optimal use of the latest ‘state of the art’ Microprocessor and Digital Signal Processor technology, all of NetWave VDR systems provide the following benefits:
- Simplified installation due to one single wire WaveConnect® cabling between the main units using ‘no-solder’ Quickcon© hermetically sealed connectors, which allow connections within 10 seconds, requiring no tooling, and achieve long lasting protection!
- Compact and freely configurable data acquisition ‘backplane’ units, the WaveNet Interface Modules® , require less than 30% of the size of earlier generation products, allow the low-cost ‘place-anywhere’ installation close to the data-source. Wiring is greatly reduced by the unique daisy-chaining capabilities of these system components.
- An unmatched choice of readily available WaveNet Adaptor Modules® allows the connection virtually to any shipboard data-source including Radar, ECDIS, GPS, AIS, Gyro (Synchro and Stepper). Digital and Analogue inputs eliminate the search and implementation of any third party ’bolton’ solutions.
True Multichannel bridge-audio (all with individual canalization) and Radar/ECDIS video recording in ultra-high quality, well exceeding IMO specifications, allow an unmatched in-depth analysis of incidents.
- WaveCheck® autonomous ‘early warning’ fault analysis software secures service parts to be available at the Port of Call, securing un-detained, timely departure in the rare event a service call would be required.
- Anticipating new regulations coming into force in 2007, the WaveData® port allows easy access and data retrieval from the VDR system through the Ethernet port provided on the Bridge control unit to any standard PC. The NetWave VDR’s already comply with these new ‘authority access' requirements via the built-in, readily accessible Ethernet interface.
- WaveLink® satellite hook-up facility allows the vessel tracking and analysis of all the data acquired by the VDR, as well as automatically generated reports to be sent to shore facilities via email or FTP.
- Optionally Incident Data may be retrieved via the Compact Flash module (NW-4016 Bridge Control Unit only), for remote analysis.

GPS receivers
URANIS offers a series of FURUNO's GPS position indicators. Range of units and repeaters cover the entire marine market from the smallest boats to the ocean going vessels.
GP-32
Compact in size, waterproof, yet big on power, features and performance, Furuno’s GP32 is perfect for a wide range of smaller fishing boats and pleasure craft. This advanced unit, based on the popular GP31, provides an accurate and reliable position fixing, thanks to a super sensitive, 12-channel GPS receiver combined with the integrated WAAS technology.
The new GP37 DGPS/WAAS Navigator is compact in size, yet big on power, features and performance. This waterproof unit is perfect for a wide range of boats. It is equipped with a WAAS and a DGPS receiver as standard supply. It utilizes both WAAS and differential radio beacon correction methods to give you the most accurate fixing position available.
GP-80
The Furuno GP80 and GP80D are high-performance GPS navigators designed for virtually every type of vessel. Built around Furuno's high-performance eight-channel, parallel receiver, the GP80 and GP80D offer a wide range of verstile graphic and data display modes. The GP80 is a DGPS-ready receiver that can be linked with an external Differential beacon receiver. The GP80D has a built-in DGPS receiver.

Furuno Echo Sounder FE-700

The purpose of the echosounder is to provide safe navigation by detecting the clearance below the ship (particularly in shallow waters) as required on the SOLAS Convention ships by the new IMO standards.
Detection range is automatically varied but there is manual override to select the required scale. The displayed record is visible for 15 min on any range and an instantaneous sounding is directly shown in large numerals in addition to the graphical display.
Depths, associated time, and position are stored for 24h in memory. The data can be played back at any time.
Visual and audible alarms are generated when the water depth below transducer is shallower than a user-preset depth. When the sea bed is lost because of the lowered detection or out of range setting, the alarm comes on. The receiver sensitivity is automatically controlled with the tracking depth; manual override is possible to improve the detection and to reduce the surface clutter.
