LRIT
According to SOLAS V Chapter Regulation 19-1 Amendments all vessels of 300 gross tonnage and above on international voyage will need to be compliant with LRIT regulations. Those ships operating exclusively in coastal Sea Area A1 and fitted with an Automatic Identification System will be exempt. A phased approach to the implementation of the regulation will allow the compliance not later than the first radio survey after 31 December 2008
Pole Star Space Applications Limited (UK) has been appointed as an LRIT Authorized Testing Application Service Provider and has 55 governmental appointments for the testing of ship borne LRIT equipment. Pole Star undertakes the integration of ship equipment into the designated DC and initial terminal compliance testing and certification in conjunction with the Ship Operator.
URANIS Ltd has been appointed as a regional distributor of Pole Star Space Applications Limited and Fulcrum Maritime Systems Limited (UK) in Ukraine and Russia. So we are authorized to test LRIT equipment for more than 70 Flag administrations.
Testing is conducted through the site of company Pole Star Space Applications Limited and Fulcrum Maritime Systems Limited in the automatic mode. Duration of the procedure takes about 30 hours. After this the system gives out a report of test conducting and suitability of equipment. If the equipment after the test results does not satisfy the requirements, the system shows the reasons of it.
Because of the large volume of requests on conducting of LRIT tests, we suggest you planning their conducting beforehand and coordinating the terms with us. We guarantee conducting of the complete test procedure before the delivery of certificate and advising of questions meeting requirements of LRIT of the equipment pre-established on your ships.
